- Tuesday, October 29 at Meadow View / The Boulders from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Trick-or-Treating
The Town of Amherst does not set official Halloween trick-or-treating hours, allowing community members and neighborhoods to use their discretion when organizing. As you prepare for an evening full of fun and festivities, it’s important to keep safety in mind. Here are some tips to ensure you, your family, and your friends have a safe and enjoyable Halloween:
- Carry glowsticks or flashlights to be visible. Wearing reflective outerwear can also be helpful if out after dark.
- Wear a mask that allows you to see and a costume that doesn’t create a tripping hazard.
- Only visit houses with lights on and never enter a stranger’s home.
- Walk in groups or with at least one friend.
- Use sidewalks when available and cross streets at designated crosswalks.
- If driving, stay alert for children and others in the streets.
- Check all candy for any signs of tampering and discard anything that looks suspicious or unwrapped.
Please note: Lincoln Ave will be closed to traffic between Amity St and Fearing St on Thursday, October 31 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The purpose of the closure is to make the neighborhood safer for trick or treaters.
