FOR FOLKS SEEKING SERVICES IN AMHERST: A GUIDE
- Age: if 60+: Amherst Senior Center (413-259-3060) for help. Ask for Helen or Michele.
- Need food:
Amherst Survival Center: box lunch at 12 noon (no sit-down meals)
Not Bread Alone: box lunch on weekends at 12 noon; box dinner on Wed. at 4 pm
Unitarian Church: box breakfast at 8 AM on Wed. - Need toiletries: the Free Store at Amherst Survival Center is closed. Try the Dollar Store, next to Stop and Shop in Hadley, where everything is $1.
- Need help shopping: if 60+: Amherst Senior Center (413-259-3060) for help. Ask for Helen or Michele.
- Need food stamps (SNAP):. Go to https://dtaconnect.eohhs.mass.gov/
- Need a job? Amherst Community Connection’s website (http://www.amherstcommunityconnections.net/job-apartment-listing)
- Facing eviction? Mass. Housing Courts are NOT processing eviction and closed until April 21. However, if the eviction has been entered for execution, you can stop it only electronically by going to www.maapl.info.
- Need rent $ help? Judith from Way Finder (1-413-313-8328).
- Need help finding housing? Amherst Community Connections’s website (http://www.amherstcommunityconnections.net/job-apartment-listing)
- Need to renew ID? RMV is closed to the public now.
- Need to file taxes? The deadline has been extended to July 15, 2020.
- Need $ to fill prescription? Can get 1-2 free refills at CVS.
- Need $ for PVTA? Right now, it is free for anywhere. The schedule is reduced to Sat. schedule.
