CDBG ADVISORY COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES MAY 27 PUBLIC HEARING ON CARES ACT FUNDING

The Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) has published a Notice of Funding Availability for Federal CARES Act Funding for immediate needs to respond to COVID-19. The Town of Amherst is eligible to apply for a maximum of $400,000 for Micro-enterprise (less than 5 FTEs) Assistance Programs and Public Social Services. 

The Town’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Advisory Committee is holding a public hearing on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 4:00 PM to:

  1. hear activity proposals for CARES ACT fuding from agencies and organizations
  2. receive comments and suggestions about these proposals
  3. to hear additional comments about CARES Act funding

    The public hearing will be conducted virtually by Zoom at https://amherstma.zoom.us/j/93320997117 and will accommodate public comment to the extent practical. A hyperlink to the hearing will be posted on the Town’s online calendar. To join the meeting via telephone: Call (312) 626-6799 or (646) 876-9923 and enter Webinar ID when prompted: 933 2099 7117.

Any person or organization present will be given the opportunity to comment at the hearing. The Town will make every attempt to provide interpretive and translation services, if necessary, with advance request. Comments may be submitted in writing or by e-mail to Nathaniel Malloy, Senior Planner at malloyn@amherstma.gov
