TOWN MANAGER PRESENTS FY 21 BUDGET TO TOWN COUNCIL

Amherst Town Manager Paul Bockelman presented his proposed FY21 Municipal Budget to the Amherst Town Council on Monday, June 29. The Town Council had previously voted unanimously ( April 27, 2020) to change the May 1 deadline established in Charter Section 5.4(b) for the Town Manager to submit a proposed budget for FY21 to the Town Council to June 29.
This budget includes all aspects of Town operations including Municipal, Schools, Library, and Capital for the fiscal year July 1, 2020–June 30, 2021 (FY21). Once adopted, this budget will supplant the one-month budget previously adopted by the Town Council. The five-year Capital Plan is part of this budget.
Budget Public Hearing
The Amherst Town Council & Finance Committee will hold a public hearing on the FY21 budget on July 13, 2020 at 7:00 PM via Zoom
The Finance Committee will review and make a recommendation to the Town Council on the budget. Meetings will be held between June 30-July 14. The Finance Committee is scheduled to make a recommendation on July 14 and the Council is scheduled to vote on the budget on July 20.
