The Princeton Review has named UMass to its “Great Campus Food” list in its 2022 edition of The Best 387 Colleges.
Recognizing that the COVID-19 pandemic limited student access to on-campus offerings, the Review chose not to do its regular rankings and instead chose to feature special “Great Lists” that recognized schools that have frequently appeared on the lists in the past. The publication noted, “We chose 26 of our annual ranking lists categories when making these lists, focusing on those areas that college applicants and their parents told us mattered to them.”
Ken Toong, executive director of Auxiliary Enterprises at UMass Amherst, said “I’m so proud of our team. The last 18 month have been extremely challenging for everyone on campus – including our dining team. Despite many obstacles, our dining team rose to the occasion and continued serving a great experience to our customers. They truly deserve this recognition.”
“Throughout the pandemic, our dining program continued to provide quality food and comfort to our students,” said Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance Andrew Mangels. “We are excited to have all of our students back again experiencing the healthy and sustainable food that UMass Dining provides. ”
UMass Amherst previously was selected as No. 1 Best Campus Food for five consecutive years in the former rankings.
The same review ranked UMass #393 in the quality of dorm accommodations.
