Locavores seeking another enjoyable weekly farmers’ market should check out the new Thursday afternoon market in the Mill District in North Amherst. The market features local produce, free range chicken, CBD products, hot coffee and a Crème Brule booth, as well as crafts, jewelry, tarot reading and vintage/thrift clothing. The market is part of a variety of developments in the Mill District and in the neighborhood, intended to enhance this historic village center.
Soon the market will feature to-go meals from Hazel’s Kitchen, a Caribbean restaurant in Chicopee that has made several ventures north to the Pioneer Valley and is building an enthusiastic fan base. Patrons will be able to order meals ahead of time and pick them up at the market on Thursdays.
Also coming soon is a pop-up beer garden as well as movie nights. More information on farmers market developments can be found on Facebook and Instagram.
Residents can also visit the new general store which carries an astonishing variety of things you really need and things you didn’t know existed. The general store is next to a new art gallery featuring a number of local artists. This new venue gives our talented local artists a much-needed place for showing and selling their work.
