Amherst Plans Virtual Celebration Of Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

The Amherst Human Rights Commission is organizing a virtual celebration of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday January 17. The event will be held over Zoom from 2:00-3:30 p.m. and can be accessed through the following link:

The event will include a reading of a part of “Proud to be Maladjusted” from King’s speech at SMU on March 17, 1966, followed by an open discussion. There will also be a libation ceremony and a musical performance.
