Rally For Immigration Justice On March 21

As part of coordinated national demonstrations on March 21, Jewish Activists for Immigration Justice of Western Massachusetts will commemorate the second anniversary of the beginning of Title 42, one of the cruelest Trump-era immigration policies that immediately expels migrants seeking asylum and returns them to danger, denying them their due process rights under international law. The demonstration will call on the Biden Administration to end the cruelty of this policy and restart asylum.
The local event will take place at downtown Northampton’s Pulaski Park at noon on Monday March 21.
More information will be posted at https://www.facebook.com/JAIJWM , as details are finalized..
Formed in 2018, JAIJ has brought a Jewish perspective to immigration justice and immigration justice consciousness to the mainstream Jewish community through numerous events. The group sent delegations to a Florida detention facility for migrant teens in 2019 and to the US/Mexico border at Brownsville/Matamoros in 2020.
Thanks for running our announcement. We have added several more speakers and co-sponsors since we sent you that. Also, we have received a request from the national group that is organizing the day of protest asking people to wear red if they can. Locally, we are also asking people to bring pots and pans and something to bang them with. See you all at noon on Monday in Pulaski Park, Northampton.
