12th Annual Daffodil Run Raises $50,000 For Big Brothers/Big Sisters Of Hampshire County With Return To In Person Race

The 12h Annual Daffodil Run for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County returned as in-person event after two years of virtual racing. The run took place starting at the Amherst Town Common on Sunday, April 24, 2022. During its 12 years, the number of event participants has ranged from a few hundred runners to over 800 runners. The virtual Daffodil Runs in 2020 and 2021 had about 300 participants. Roughly 400 runners and walkers registered for this year’s event which hit its fundraising target of $50,000.

Organizers Celebrate Successful Return of In Person Race
Susan Nicastro, Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County, commented:
“I could not be more thrilled with the success of our 12th Annual Daffodil Run! This event is our biggest fundraiser of the year and makes it possible to carry out our mission to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County makes meaningful matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and youth (“Littles”), with the aim of developing positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.”
Ann Walsh, Development and Partnerships Manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County and event director, shared the following:
