Shira Sadeh has assumed the duties of  Social Media Editor at the Indy.  Sadeh will take responsibility for expanding Indy’s presence on social media and manage Indy accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.  She takes over management of the Indy’s Facebook page from Toni Cunningham who has been taking care of that site since November of 2021.

The Indy launched its new account on Instagram, on Friday February 3.  Sadeh said that by moving onto a more youth-oriented platform, she hopes that the new Instagram page will provide a news source for a more age-diverse audience. The Indy aims to fulfill its mission of being a critical and progressive project in its coverage as well as in its actions. An important progressive goal is to engage young, change-oriented community members in town politics and events. The Indy’s Instagram page will hopefully provide an entry-point into the town for a younger audience, and boost engagement with the Indy’s content.” Sadeh encouraged Indy readers to follow us on Instagram.

Content will continue to be shared on the current Facebook page and Twitter page in addition to the Instagram page, but we strongly encourage readers to follow us on Instagram as well.

Sadeh is a writer from New Hampshire and a student at Mt. Holyoke College.  She has a background in political activism, fighting for climate and housing justice, and now writes for the Indy about policing and the Human Rights Commission in Amherst.  She can be reached at amherstindy@gmail.com or ssadeh314@gmail.com.
