Public Invited To View Ball Lane Affordable Condo Site On April 26
Layout of proposed community housing project at Ball Lane. The project will construct 30-32 homes of which 20 will be reserved for low income tenants. CPAC allocated $750,000 to support the project.
Valley Community Development Corporation is sponsoring a community discussion regarding the proposed 30 unit condominium development planned for 20-40 Ball Lane in North Amherst. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the site, rain or shine. All are welcome to attend. Parking is available on the driveway on Montague Road (Route 63) adjacent to the concrete pads. Attendees should not park on Ball Lane. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
The condominiums will offer an opportunity for affordable home ownership. Valley CDC purchased the property in 2022. It is currently applying for a permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals, and has received $750,000 in Community Preservation Act funds. Construction is expected to begin in 2024, with completion in 2025. The project will have duplex condominiums around shared open space. Shared parking arrangements will minimize traffic in the 8.3 acre site. Look here for more information.
