Over 1000 Runners Support The Amherst Survival Center At UMass Dash and Dine
Runners of all ages, including some in strollers, were at the starting line at the Horseshoe in front of the Southwest dorms at UMass for the 12th annual Dash and Dine on April 22. The 1167 participants ran and walked the five-kilometer course around the UMass campus to raise money for the Amherst Survival Center. Participants were treated to a lunch by the award-winning UMass Dining Services at the conclusion of the event.
According to race director Chris Howland, the Dash and Dine has raised over $57,000 for the Survival Center in the 12 years it has been run. This year’s men’s winner was Strickland Davis who finished in a time of 16:49, a minute faster than second place Collin McGlynn. The women’s race was won by Kylie Cardoso in 19:05. Hayley Norton finished in second place with a time of 19:32.
