I want to express some major gratitude to Ben Herrington for his role as Chair of the Amherst Regional School Committee. Herrington is the only School Committee member to serve without receiving a stipend, since he is also on staff at the Amherst schools. He is navigating a hard situation. Being a leader is hard in easy times, and especially hard in tough times. Thank you Ben for rising to the occasion, and I hope the School Committee can continue to have honest, open, and transparent discussions as our community figures out next steps.
