The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) is celebrating its Golden Anniversary of providing public transportation services for 50 years. To commemorate this incredible milestone, PVTA will be celebrating all year long by announcing exciting news, events, and promotions that will spread enthusiasm like confetti across the calendar. To kick off PVTA’s 50th  Anniversary celebration, and to thank our passengers for their continued loyalty, starting June 1, 2024 through August 31, 2024, no fares or passes will be needed for PVTA bus and paratransit services.

PVTA was created in 1974 to provide oversight and coordination of public transportation within the Pioneer Valley region.

“Over the past fifty years, PVTA has grown, expanded service, and implemented technological improvements that have benefited the region’s residents. PVTA has one of the most professional and dedicated workforces that allow us to provide transit services that make a difference in the lives of our passengers” said Sandra E. Sheehan, PVTA Administrator.
