This photo was taken while kayaking south of Vernon Dam on the Connecticut River.  The shots were pulled from a 10 second video clip.  A tree swallow was NOT pleased that an eagle that had perched on a nearby branch.  They sat looking at each other. The swallow flew right into the eagle’s face, circled around and then started pecking it from behind, at which point the eagle took off in a desperate bid to escape (see next photo). 1. I saw a bear just yesterday walking across South East Street near Stanley Street. I wonder if it was the same one as on Hilda’s porch, they look very similar, both small to mid-sized and clearly looking for food.
