A change in voting location for Precinct 1 in North Amherst from the North Zion Church to the newly renovated North Amherst Library was approved unanimously by Town Council at their July 15 meeting. Town Clerk Sue Audette stated the new location would take effect for the September 3 state primary.

Councilor Cathy Schoen (District 1) applauded the change, noting that the community room at the North Amherst Library is a beautiful space, and having the polling place there will give more residents a chance to see it. She also said that the move would solve a problem of minimal parking at the North Zion Church.
