Summer Eats is a free-of-charge program that provides free meals to all kids and teens, ages 18 and under, at locations across Massachusetts during the summer months. This is a federal nutrition program designed to ensure that all youth have access to healthy meals and snacks during the summer, when school is not in session.

Project Bread’s Child Nutrition Outreach Program partners with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to identify and collaborate with local school and community meal providers to offer Summer Eats sites across the state. In Amherst, the Summer Eats sites are sponsored by UMass Amherst Dining and meals are provided through the Baby Berk Food Truck.
