80 Acres will host its first Black Roots Folk Festival on Sunday, September 8 from 12 to 6 p.m. on the Town Common. The Amherst Regional Middle School is the alternate location in the case of rain. The event will feature live music, delicious food, and local crafts. Organizers encourage residents to “immerse yourself in the soulful sounds of traditional jazz, funk, and soul performed by talented artists from the community and beyond.”

Performers include the Amherst Area Gospel Choir, Storytelling with DR Nancy Tolson, Back in Time, Aimee Salmon, Lost Tribe, DJ Cancer, DJ Mikey Don, Jazz Quintet, Kamal Peters, and Maria Del Carmen. A preliminary schedule of performances is listed below.

  1. I’m confused. Is this on Saturday the 7th or Sunday the 8th? Sounds like a wonderful event!
