Survival Center and AHRS Collecting New and Used Winter Coats
Survival Center Coat Drive
Do you have winter coats in your closet that you never wear? New or gently used gloves, scarves, or winter hats? The Amherst Surival Center (ASC) is now accepting donations of new and used winter coats.
Drop donations off at the Amherst Survival Center, 138 Sunderland Road. Drop off times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Winter wear will be distributed at the Winter Coat Pop Up, the week of November 18-22 during the center’s open hours.
ARHS PGO Coat Drive
The Amherst Regional High School PGO’s annual winter coat drive is now underway, & the PGO is seeking new and gently used winter coats/jackets in teen & adult sizes. (The ARPS Family Center already has a grant for new coats in kid sizes). If you have any coats to donate, please drop them off at one of the following locations during business hours:
Amherst Regional High School -School Lobby, 21 Mattoon Street
Amherst Regional Middle School, School Lobby, 170 Chestnut Street
Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce – downtown offices, 35 South Pleasant Street
Greenfield Savings Bank – 6 University Drive
If drop off proves difficult, please reach out to arrange pickup.
The Coat Drive ends Friday, Nov 15. The following week, the collected coats will be available at the ARPS Family Center for students & families to come look for what they need.
Winter Wear Distribution in The Mill District
The General Store and Local Art Gallery in the Mill District, 91 Cowls Road, will be distributing winter wear, as well as new games and toys to those registered at the Survival Center food pantry in the Amherst Survival Center tent at the Winter Arts Market, Saturday November 2, 12 to 4 p.m., Donations will be accepted.
