Amherst Media Annual Gala Will Honor Amherst Area Gospel Choir

Amherst Media’s annual Raise Your Voice Gala will take place in the UMass Student Union Ballroom on Saturday, December 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event includes dinner and dancing with DJ Don. Jacqui Wallace and the Amherst Area Gospel Choir will receive the Jean Haggarty Award for Community Service and Social Justice. The keynote speaker will be Celia Johnston Blue, President and CEO of Massachusetts Women of Color Coalition. Linda Ziegenbein, UMass Assistant Vice-Chancellor of Social Engagement and Outreach will present opening remarks.
Amherst Media is the nation’s longest operating local cable access center. The annual gala celebrates 48 years of lifting community voices in Amherst. For more information about the gala, look here.
