Claire Decey and Jamoof will headline Pioneer Valley Folklore Society’s monthly song and story swap on Saturday, January 4, from 7-9 p.m. at First Church, 165 Main Street in Amherst. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $7.50 to the artists. Parking is available in the lot behind the church.

At song and story swaps, people of all ages gather to share stories and songs that are traditional, newly written, or of personal experiences. You can tell, sing, or lead
everyone in singing, or request a song or story.  Listeners are welcome. The opening round theme for the evening is “creativity”.

Claire Dacey is a Stanford University-trained scientist who has made a name
for herself as a captivating vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Claire has collaborated with John Genyo Sprague in The Enchantivists and is working on an album project with Anand Nayak of the group Rani Arbo and Daisy Mayhem. Famed Maine folk musician Gordon Bok has said of Claire, “So few singer-songwriters give me the feeling that they know the world-that-feeds-them with the intimacy Claire has.”

Joining Claire will be Jamoof, otherwise known as John Michael-Field.  A
singer-guitarist and prolific songwriter, Jamoof has released more than 250
video recordings on YouTube.

The monthly Song & Story Swap, now in its twenty-ninth year, is sponsored by
the Pioneer Valley Folklore Society of western Massachusetts. Visit the
