Much To Do on the Town Common This Weekend

The Town Common will host a variety of activities this weekend.

Amherst Farmers’ Market
The Amherst Farmers’ Market which kicked off its 54th season last week, will be in full swing on Saturday, April 26 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. featuring a supply of plants, vegetables, flowers, and prepared foods from local farms and businesses.  The Farmers’ Market continues on the Town Common every Saturday until November 23.  More information

Sustainability Festival
The 13th Annual Amherst Sustainability Festival will bring fun, education, and entertainment with activities for the whole family to the common from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday April 26. This free, family-friendly event brings together local farmers, environmental vendors, advocacy groups, live entertainment, hands-on demonstrations, sustainable crafts, and much more.. Daffodil Run
On Sunday April 27, the Town Common will be the scene of the 15th annual Daffodil Run. This 5 km or 10 km race benefits Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Hampshire County supporting their  mission to foster one-to-one mentoring relationships that empower local youth.

The day’s festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. with on-site registration, followed by a community warm-up at 9:30 a.m.. The 10K race kicks off at 10:00 a.m., and the 5K run/walk starts at 10:15 a.m.  After the races, enjoy a vibrant post-run celebration featuring live music, delicious food, family-friendly activities, and a 50/50 raffle. Registration fees are $35 for participants aged 13 and over, and $20 for those 12 and under. There is always a lot of fun and energy among the participants and supporters of all ages at this event.
