Although UMass is no longer conducting PCR testing for Covid-19 for community members, Amherst has received over 6,000 rapid antigen tests for residents. These are available for free at the Bangs Center from 10 to 2, Monday through Friday while the supply lasts. People can also receive up to eight antigen tests for free through the mail from the federal government at https://www.covid.gov/tests .

The Amherst Board of Health continues to offer vaccines every Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. These include the initial series of two immunizations and first and second booster shots for eligible residents. Appointments for the clinic can be made here, but walk-ins are also welcome. No identification or insurance information is necessary for the vaccine, but people are encouraged to bring their vaccine cards. It is estimated that 89% of Amherst residents are fully vaccinated.
