The public is invited to join the Reading Fredrick Douglass Project as the group undertakes its fifth year of community reading and discussion of Douglass’s historic speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”Douglass delivered the speech on July 5, 1852 in Corinthian Hall, Rochester, New York to the Ladies’ Anti-Slavery Society.
This year, the reading will be conducted via Zoom and will also be recorded and aired on Amherst Media at a later date.
