Architecture Tour Planned for Downtown Amherst

This Saturday, May 4th, town councilor Steve Schreiber will lead a tour of architecture in downtown Amherst. Schreiber, who is Chair of the Department of Architecture at UMass, will guide people from Town Hall through the center of Amherst. The tour will cover historic buildings including the library, St. Bridget’s Church and the Unitarian Universalist building. Along with architecture, Schreiber will discuss town planning and the successive waves of development that have shaped Amherst’s center.

Meet on the steps of Town Hall, 4 Boltwood Avenue at 9:00 AM. The tour runs through 10:30. Rain date the following day at the same time.
