As the the Town of Amherst and Amherst Regional School Districts are facing another devastating round of budget cuts (Amherst at $1,413,694; the region at $3 million), caretakers and community members are joining together to advocate for adequate funding that will keep our schools safe and equitable.  In the past years, we have seen cuts impact special education services, language instruction, performing arts, library staffing, restorative justice, and mental health services.  Our goal is  to work collaboratively with town officials and interested stakeholders to find solutions to our current budget shortfalls in a way that will be sustainable and equitable; and to help community members understand the issues so that they are empowered to get involved.

Community Meetings
There are two upcoming government meetings that will address the budget.
