The following statement regarding accusations made against School Superintendent E. Xiomara Herman (Dr. Xi) was released by the Amherst-Pelham Regional and Union 26 School Committees on February 24, 2025
As has been reported, the Union 26 and Amherst-Pelham Regional School Committees hired an independent law firm to investigate three allegations against Superintendent Xiomara Herman.
The allegations were:
- Did the Superintendent make a credible threat of harm against an employee?
- Did the Superintendent create a hostile work environment for a specific employee due to the employee’s disability?
- Did the Superintendent retaliate against certain employees based on their membership in a protected class?
The investigator conducted interviews, collected evidence, and prepared a lengthy report for the committees. The investigator’s findings did not substantiate any of these allegations.
Accordingly, the committees have taken no action on the report, and now consider this matter closed.
